1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

I specialize in helping get people to the root of the issues which are causing stress and reactivity in their lives. My work focuses on identifying and healing traumas (to include anything less than nurturing from childhood) which may have led to addictions, anxiety, depression or relationship issues. My practice focuses on a winning strategy of combined modalities which I have found to be the most useful to clients: EMDR therapy, Neurofeedback and Inner Child Work (Post-Induction Therapy).

2. Tell us about yourself.

I knew I wanted to be a private practice therapist before I knew what a therapist was. Ultimately, I borrowed the money to pursue my dream of a graduate degree and starting a private practice. Since then, I have been drawn to train with various mentors whose modality spoke to me. Adding EMDR and neurofeedback to my practice has enabled me to help clients in unimaginable ways. My heart is warmed daily by the courageous vulnerability of my clients which leads to their healing and growth.

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

A 55 year old male client who was raised in an emotionally, physically, and sexually abusive home now experiences success in both his home and professional life. Ever so cautiously, he learned to trust, to be close to others, and to identify and express his feelings. A porn addict since age12, this man went from being an unfiltered, macho male who engaged in many self-destructive and self-medicating behaviors to someone whose goal is to be a good person. And he is!

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

I haven't found it to be hard at all... but I do miss the paid vacations.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

The top 3 tips I'd give.

  1. Do your own personal work before you try to help others and continue to participate in self-care throughout your career.
  2. Find leaders in the field with whom you resonate and spend the money to create a specialty through extensive training.
  3. Don't hesitate to eliminate insurance and become a self-pay practice. You will have more time to see clients and increase your income.

6. Where can people find you?
