1. What's your practice focus and what kind of clients knock on your door ?

My focus centers on optimizing health through tailored nutrition and lifestyle changes. Mainly, I work with middle-aged women tackling diabetes, cardiovascular issues, autoimmune diseases, and weight challenges, often stemming from prioritizing family over self-care. Additionally, I assist young adults and teenagers dealing with issues like iron deficiency. My goal is to empower individuals across age groups to proactively manage their health through sustainable lifestyle choices.

2. Tell us about yourself.

Motivated by the toll of lifestyle diseases, my transition from prosthetics to nutrition stemmed from witnessing the impact of poorly managed type 2 diabetes. Recognizing the potential of a whole food plant-based diet, I'm dedicated to combatting heart disease. Grounded in evidence, I guide clients toward sustainable nutrition, leveraging my research background. My goal is to empower individuals, stressing the efficacy of a whole food plant-based diet in preventing and reversing chronic diseases

3. Tell us the story of a patient who you are most proud of helping.

A woman in her early 50s, juggling a full-time job and raising two children, approached me with pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, and lifelong weight struggles. Through a gradual approach, we implemented small dietary changes, successfully preventing the need for medication. She not only achieved significant weight loss but, more importantly, evaded the onset of diabetes. Beyond her initial goals, she now revels in newfound health, boasting increased energy and an overall sense of vitality.

4. What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a practitioner in private practice?

While I thrive on face-to-face client interactions, the administrative, business, and marketing facets of private practice pose significant challenges. I find these aspects less enjoyable, particularly note writing. The struggle lies in maintaining a balance that prioritizes client care amid the demands of running a successful practice.

5. What are the top 3 tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a private practice today?\

These would be my pieces of advice:

  1. Prioritise client relationships: Cultivate strong connections by actively engaging with clients and understand their unique needs.
  2. Get really good at what you do: Become an expertise through continuous learning, specialise in a niche area, and embrace feedback.
  3. Strategic marketing and patience: Develop a targeted marketing plan, utilise online platforms and network, while understand that sustainable growth requires patience, persistence, and the flexibility to adapt your strategies over time.

6. Where can people find you?
